BAH!

Art Jumble last week: A Christmas Carol character.

It seems as if Ebenezer has a thing or two to tell the ghost of Christmas Future.

Dark Leia

Many years pass, things get a little dull around the palace, Han decides he'd rather be solo (apologies for that one), and, as it turns out, peace and harmony turns out to be as boring as a Star Wars prequel. What's a princess to do?

Why, get some body ink and turn to the dark side, of course!

Jerry Hall

A couple of months back, Art Jumble's weekly drawing topic was a Mother Goose rhyme. I started one, but never finished. Until this morning, that is.

The rhyme is as follows:

Jerry Hall

Jerry Hall, he was so small,
A rat could eat him, hat and all.

Always so cheery, that Mum Goose.

Dinosaur

I tried drawing some dinosuars the other day. I clearly need reference to perform this task. You shouldve seen the T-Rex. Oof.

Hey, Davy

Last week's Art Jumble: David & Goliath

I'm not so sure David would have turned and walked back to his peeps with half a smirk on his face, like Bruce Willis in a Die Hard movie, as Goliath crumpled to the ground.

Although, you never know. Maybe he would've uttered a snappy catch phrase, too!

"Go-Lyeth, m-f'er!'

Wookyoda

"Grawrr!"
(I don't mind you riding on my back, there, Yoda, but enough with the light saber; I just got my fur done!)

And just what did Chewbacca keep in his little shoulder bag? A laptop? Twix bars? Maybe a paperback?

Concession Speech

Blast you Obamalien! You always one-up me!

I will have my revenge!

Halloween, 1978

Art Jumble for this week: Halloween Memories.

Here's my costume (home-made) from 1978, or at least how it looked in my mind's eye:

Part Storm Trooper, part Cylon Centurion; ALL AWESOME!

Man-Child!

Boy, 7, designs fearsome creature; Man, 40 (going on 7) interprets:

Here are the particulars:

Shoulder-harnessed nuclear firepower, arachnid legs, octopus tentacles and a skull for a head, complete with elephant ears and a clown nose (but of course).

Look out!

Fwoosh!

The malevolent pumpkin-headed fellow (I'll call him Gourdy) drops on an unsuspecting victim! Although, looking at it again, perhaps he's being blown upward by the westerly wind.

His sleeves would suggest the latter.

Thursday, New Profile Pic

I'm getting tired of the monkey-in-a-spacesuit profile pic, so, I thought i would fashion myself a new one.

Handsome guy!

Scary Continued:

What better way to say "Happy Halloween" than to have an ugly witch spread her holiday cheer (in the form of some kind of nasty spell, of course)!

Save your Milk Duds for me, please; you can have my Smarties and Candy Corn.

Some Other Drawings

Here's a couple of drawings from this weekend, inked from sketchbook doodles which are scanned and enlarged. In case you wanted to know.

Bunny

I call him "Spot."

Here's a colored version. I lost steam by time I got to the tail.

Sasquash!

I'm quite behind on my scanning lately, but I did make some time today to digitize this one:

A couple of recent sketch book pages:

I thought this one deserved a wee bit of color:

Ellie Man

Art Jumble last week's topic was "Elephant Man."

Contrary to popular opinion, I am not, in fact, an animal.

Sidekicks

How about the Lone Ranger?

If you didn't notice, dipwad, you had a fellow named TONTO riding with you! Not so "lone" now, were you? Honestly!

What an embarrasment; freakin' ugly American. Now I know why the guy in the commercial was crying.

Go Tonto!

Grim Dude

I like graphic ink treatments. The cutout filter in photoshop
produces some nices results when applied to a scan of a
pencil drawing.

At least I think so.

Perhaps I'll try it again.

KAMELEON!

For all of you Saturday-aftermoon-cinema fans, here's my post for this week's Art Jumble: Create Your Own Japanese Monster.

Admittedly he's no Gamera, but then again, who is.

Snake Eyes!

This is for last week's Art Jumble Topic: Bad Luck.

Below was the sucky-pants first attempt, which I wasn't exactly thrilled with:

Ghost King

Well actually, it started out as a ghost king, but I gave him this fluffy red collar, and the red sort of reflects of to his face, and his flesh tone is not quite as pallid as I started with. So maybe he's a zombie king. Perhaps just a Duke with flu-like symptoms.

Alt for Norge!

With an icy demeanor even Thor's hammer couldn't crack, Norway's
King Knut would cut your fingers off as soon as shake your hand.

He is noted for several failed attempts of conquering Finland, but is heralded as
the ruler who introduced the pirogi to his native land.
